Orienting me

Well folks.... I've made it through three days of orientation so far.
I was too tired to write a post the past couple nights, but tonight I am making myself do it.

Day one: Of course me my crazy obsessive self and I got there 20 minutes early.
After I had walked in, there was a girl that looked just as young as me, but at first I was thinking" Well she looks awful young, and I just don't think we will get along by the way she carried herself."
I know it is bad of me to judge, and I am trying to get better, but that was my first reaction.
And boy you can't judge a person by just seeing them walk in. After she started talking to me, I found out that she was working on the same floor as me, and the same shift! She was also only a year older than me. Long story short, we are now twins in my opinion, and we refuse to be seperated. She is so much like me that it isn't funny.
We get along so well, and we have hung out the whole time so far.

The first day was pretty boring. The usual stuff was talked about, accompanied with boring videos. Those people taught me nothing. Half of what they said was incorrect anyway.

The second day, we were still in orientatio, and that again was boring stuff. I also had to sit through the benefits and retirement part, and they won't let me take retirement out because I am not 21. LOSERS! If I am working, why can't I start saving for when I'm older anyway?!

Today, I started skills. Well actually, today was no skills, instead we had powerpoint shows with voices, and videos. We spent a few minutes on a computer scavenger hunt, but that was exciting as my day got.

Oh I forgot to mention.... there is quite the adorable polite gentleman in my class.

Plus, he's a fireman(WIN.)
We shall see where this takes me....


I have to get ready for tomorrow, including going to bed at a decent time, so That's all I have for tonight!

Happy Friday!
I hope everyone's day has been good so far!

I LOVE the clouds here today! I wish it would rain too, but I'm happy with just clouds! Call me weird, but I do enjoy myself a cloudy day. That happens to be my favorite weather. It's also around 80 degrees, which for m is pure bliss. I just haven't been able to handle the heat like I could before. Probably because I haven't been to the pool that much this summer.

As I am typing this, my bestest buddy Cyrus is taking his nap. I just put him down for the last time being his full time nanny. though it wasnt a full time job, I was the only nanny for him! Now he will have a new stranger watching him. It made me so sad to know that soon someone else will be struggling to get him to fall asleep, or dealing with him crying when he gets mad. The boy is part of my life now! I'm going to try my hardest to nanny with him as much as I possibly can!

I have 3 hours left with him today, and as soon as he wakes up I will be the kisses monster! :)

Nervous

I have been SO excited about orientation/the new job, that now I am just downright nervous.
Tomorrow marks my last day of full time days with Cyrus. SO bittwersweet. I will still see him and keep him as much as I can, but none of those patients will give me kisses like my boy does.( And Frankly I hope they don't! ha)

Tuesday I ordered the rest of my scrubs( Which are ridicuously priced if you ask me!) and they should be here by tomorrow. Let's please hope that I like them and the fit my shape well.

My pool days are starting to wind down now, especially since I have the job. Come the end of September the pool will be closed, and then in October I get to get my tan on all over again on the ship!

I've been given the opprotunity to move into my grandmothers house if I wish to, but I am just not too sure about it.
I mean I love the house, but I've always had nightmares about it, and I'm not quite sure I would like to stay alone in it.

I've been told I could always remodel it, but most of the stuff in it is new, and it is a charming house. The bathrooms would have to be redone because even though I am girly, I am not a fan of a pink bathroom!

I hope to have more posts in the fall, but I have a feeling juggling the new job, 2 clsees, and still nannying some I will have my hands full!

This week

Procrastination hit hard this week around here.
I wanted to do a blog post everyday, put it off until later, and here i am now FINALLY writing it!

I have on my new glasses now. I ordered them online, so I had no idea if I would like them or not, and well.... I don't think I would have picked them in the store, but I don't think they look bad on me.

I mean I spent all of $14 on them including shipping, so I can't complain. I think my eye also have to get used to them before I really start to enjoy them. BTW I so want to kiss whoever invented contacts. I have no idea what I would do without them! Well I do know, but I wouldn't feel as pretty. I've been self conscious about wearing glasses for as long as I can remember. They just don't fit me.


I got my "packet" from MJH yesterday too!
Pretty much all that means is they told me my first 2 weeks schedule, and gave me basic info. For example, where to take my drug test and get my background check done. I mean come on now, we know I'll fail the drug test and definitely fail the criminal background check. (HA!) But really, just the basics.
They did tell me though that I will be doing nights of course, and every other weekend. I offered to do weekends because of the incredible differential, because I figure that gets me one step closer to a house.

I found what seems to be the PERFECT house! I refuse to rent because I feel as if that is money going down the drain, so I would LOVE to get this house. it is in my price range(which isn't much!),has a new kitchen, and the best part is that the house is renovated all over!
Plus a small pool and 2 car garage doesn't hurt!

If anyone that happens to read this knows anyone that would like to buy this for me, or would like to buy it for me as a "rent to own" they should let me know! :)

PURCHASED!

Yesterday I went to Chimney Corner thinking I would find nice Vera stuff on clearance, but everything there was happened to be something I would never use. As a result, I did get 3 sppons that were 75 percent off, and I got two other items......


This lovely planner that you saw on my blog the other day that I had said I wanted....
and this!




I got this wristlet because it fits my blackberry in it perfectly. I figure it will be perfect for the cruise, and so that I don't have to lug a big purse around with non essentials in it so much.

It was between this wristlet, and a frill tote bag I had found inside on clearance. I had soooo many tote bags, and had been eyeing a wristlet like this for so long that I couldn't resist it!



And it worked out perfectly because when I got to the pool I got a check from my aunt for a graduation gift that I had gotten that wasn't up to par, and the company said I can keep the gift too!
PLUS, to top it off I also got a late graduation gift from one of the little boys at the pool. So all in all, my trip yesterday was paid for by a defective present, plus I still have the money I got!


It was a good day :)

Quickie

Netflix has taken over my slightly productive summer.

Ive watched all the episodes available of Army Wives, and now I'm half way through In Plain Sight.
It's not too bad thoug, because I know to enjoy my time off now, because come August my life will be difficult because I will be juggling a full time overnight job, two online classes, and possibly nannying.

As long as I get through August and September, I have the cruise in October waiting for me!!

HIRED!!

I just got the call that I am officially hired to start Aug. 8th!
Some of the fine detials haven't been worked out yet, but I am excited!!

I finally caved in yesterday, and bought my first pair of Danskos!
I had been hesitant about it because of the high price, but my poor clarks that are similar are on their last leg, I mean bottoms starting to flap when I walk, superglue can't even fix them (trust me I tried!)
They lasted 5 years with continuous wear, so I won't complain!

I hope these babies last even longer!!






I think as a present to myself for getting the job, I will buy this:

Virtually perfect to keep my school and work schedule in!

Job

Guess who is your newest certified nursing assitant at the new Martha Jefferson hospital? This girl right HERE! :)
Yesterday morning I had an appointment with the nurse that hires on her floor( which also happens to be my moms best friend's sister), and this morning I had a second interview with two of her coworkers(one happened to be my moms best friend :))

It went great! My heebie jeebies were all for nothing it seems. As soon as we got on the elevator this morning I was told I had the job!

It will be hard to do night shift, adjust to a new schedule, new people, and the everchanging environment, but I know that with my own self-determination adn the lord's guidance I will do just fine!

I'm so sad to leave my sweet Cy! He is such a good baybay! I hope to still watch him one or two days a week, depending on my schedule!

Graduated AND Growing up....all in less than a month

It's true kiddos. Believe it or not, this girl has graduated! With an advacned studies diploma at that!

That was 3 weeks ago... and I've done a lot of growing up since then.


First, I had a graduation partayyy. It was a great time with GREAT friends and family. Except that storm that came through. That was not so fun.






Then the next weekend my grandmother passed away unexpectedly. It has hit my family hard, especially my mom, but we are gonna be okay :)
We know she is in heaven now having a grand old time with ehr dear friends and my grandfather.

Then yesterday.... I GOT A CALL! I have a job interview tomorrow morning at Martha Jefferson Hospital! It is a nursing assitant position! I hope to get 3-12 hour shifts, and then work night shift for extra moolah to get my own place.

Life Happens

I know I know, I promised moer often, and that has already failed. But I do have reasons(aka excuses)

1. I've been living a fun life
2. The week I was off happened to be my exam week, so I was swamped with studying galore
3. Facebook

Facebook is so addicting. I could spend hours on there a day, and these days I probably will.
One class over the summer will make for one very bored girl.
I will work of course, but theremay be a BIG change there!

Last night I went to see Josh Thompson and Cody Purvis in concert. What a lucky girl I am :)

I'm going on a cruise in October! Bermuda here I come! I've been blessed enough to get a balcony room! I had planned on one with a big window, but instead my aunt's sister is paying the extra money for me to room with her!

God has blessed me with so many opprotunities to see the world lately!

I figure now is the best time to explore too before I even consider kids!
If only I had a man to share the experiences with though! I am not rushing it though, because I know God has a plan for me, and finding the right man foe me is included in that.

My infatiation currently doesn't hurt though!
I'm hoping this infatuation will become more than it is :)



Graduation is SO close! I cannot believe that I am about to get my diploma. I feel so accomplished to have gotten my advanced studies diploma also.
I guess I should probably get my cap and gown before it is too late! I ordered it of course, I just ahven't picked it up yet since I don't actually go to CHS daily anymore. Or weekly, or even monthly!

I feel so blessed to also have been given the opprotunity to spend my senior year at PVCC. I have thorougly enjoyed getting to further my education this year!

Where to start?!

I know, I know.I fail when it comes to posting blog posts reguarly. At least I will admit it!
I actually have a goal to post more often, at least once a week :)
With all the time I will now have, I suppose there is no excuse why I can't.

Why do I have this time you ask? It's a real unfortunate story I must say.

I applied to Piedmont's nursing program back in Feb, and after waiting TWO whole months, I found out that I didn't get in. But.... I think that is okay. I understand that God won't give me anything I can't handle, and that he has a plan for me!

So now for the summer and fall I have two classes to take! Oh the free time I will have... except not really.
Since I did not get into the program this year, I think I may pick up a CNA job at least part-time.
There is also a big chance of doing Mary Kay! Any buyers? :)

But... most likely if I get a CNA job I have to leave this hunk of love I like to call my little boyfriend.
